Barack, can we talk? →
wilwheaton: It’s me. I’m here in the Democratic base. It’s been a little testy between your people and my people lately, and I’m concerned that things might get out of hand. Worse, I worry that you don’t understand why. It’s not that we don’t understand how government works, or that democracy runs on compromise. And it’s not that we thought you were some kind of messiah, who could turn the...

ninagarcia: Conversations With Klum - Nina Garcia Nina Garcia and I have been judges on ‘Project Runway’ together for many years now. But just because we both work in the fashion industry doesn’t mean we always share the same opinions or wear the same styles. Here, Nina talks about what fall trends she would like to go away, and which ones she can’t wait to buy. Heidi Klum

So, I watched Misfits this weekend.
Did everyone else know that it was about kids who get superpowers? I seriously thought that the Wikipedia page had been hacked. I mean, I’ve seen the internet buzzing about it and just assumed it was like Skins 2.0, only more explicit about the delinquency. Which is kind of true, but also it’s about delinquents who get super powers. And it’s pretty entertaining.

wilwheaton: To our great shame, among the 20 major advanced countries America now has the highest poverty rate, both generally and for children; the greatest inequality of incomes; the lowest government spending as a percentage of GDP on social programs for the disadvantaged; the lowest number of paid holiday, annual, and maternity leaves; the lowest score on the United Nations’ index of...

parliament-of-owls: today while working the farmer’s market booth i saw a friend from my adolescence that i hadn’t seen since high school. she is married & has a daughter now & i couldn’t think of anything to say to her daughter except, “just wait until you’re older & i can tell you all the dirt on your mommy”. clearly i should be allowed to be around children.
